As a straight white male I already have three strikes against me in terms of what the left perceives as racist and now my love of metal gives me a forth. I don’t really understand the rules of liberal baseball, but I think this is probably bad. It turns out loving heavy metal music is a hate crime and by implication being a wuss-rock lover is a protected class. A DJ spinning sissy top-40 songs in the Seattle area was beaten up (maybe) for refusing to play metal and cops are looking at this as a hate crime.
The Seattle Times reports that a black DJ, who wishes to remain anonymous, was working a private party at a Lynnwood, WA tavern. He reportedly was playing Top-40 hits including Phil Collins, which I’m pretty sure is considered a hate crime in the black community for a black DJ to spin. The attendees of this private party were not big fans of the light-rock and sugary pop the DJ was playing so some of them made requests.
The DJ, who asked not to be named for fear of retaliation, said he was apparently assaulted because he had not immediately played the heavy metal music requested by a group of men who walked into the Rec Room Tavern at 149th and Highway 99.
The DJ said he tried to accommodate the group, and he had put on his “prepare list” tunes by Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath.
The DJ said he was first approached by one man who said about the music, “Give me hard stuff.” The DJ said the man appeared to him to be “totally drunk.”
The DJ said he decided that it would be a good time to go outside and have a smoke. When he returned, he said, the man who had made the music request had taken off his pants and was dancing in his underwear.
When you are DJing a private party, play the music the attendees want to here. When a drunk guy with no pants on wants to hear some Iron Maiden, put on “Run to the Hills” as fast as you can. Unfortunately this DJ didn’t get around to accommodating the musical tastes of the guests and a riot broke out. The DJ claims he was targeted, but from the news account, it sounds like it was an average typical drunken barroom brawl.
The DJ also put a racial spin on his refusal to spin the music guests wanted t hear.
“What, they couldn’t wait a minute and a half, two minutes? That’s all they had to wait to get to their music? For that they beat my ass, and called me a (N-word)?” said the DJ.
The DJ said that one point in the subsequent brawl, one of the men told him, “We will find you and we will kill you.”
The DJ said one man had the word “devil” tattooed from the front to the back of his shaved head. He also said he saw swastika tattoos on the arms of a couple of others, which he noticed “when they were about to jump me.”
Wait a second. “About” to jump him? Was he jumped or not? The news report doesn’t list any injuries sustained by the DJ, but he did complain that his laptop screen was cracked. I have a feeling everything this DJ said was a lie including the use of the N-word and the heavy metal-loving swastika-covered Nazi skinheds with no pants on. Skinheads wear pants and listen to skinhead music (Oi!).
The cops show up and arrested 9 people that the Seattle Times noted, “all of whom are white.” These white metal loving pantless “Nazis” were charged with malicious harassment, assault, malicious mischief, and DUI. How the hell do you get a DUI inside a bar? How the hell do you get charged with malicious harassment, which is Washington’s hate crime statute, because the the DJ was playing wuss-rock?
It’s not just the cops who think this was a hate crime:

“I wasn’t going to say it at first. I’m gonna say it now,” said the DJ. “I was the only black person there.”
Thanks to this precedent setting case we can now add loving heavy metal music to the long list of things that makes people racist according to liberals. I’m listening to Panera’s “Vulgar Display of Power” as I write this and I’m sure the Southern Poverty Law Center will be listing me as a hate extremist before the week is up.
