She hasn’t even been given the Speaker’s gavel yet and already Nancy Pelosi is threatening to destroy the country. The soon-to-be Speaker of the House says that she would rather shut the government down forever than fund President Trump’s proposed border wall. Putting it another way, Pelosi would rather end the US government permanently than take some reasonable measures to protect this country from foreign invaders and scumbags. Pelosi is saying very clearly that if illegal aliens can’t have this country, nobody can.
This week, Pelosi along with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer met with President Trump to discuss the upcoming budget battle and immigration enforcement. Trump insisted on funding for a border wall along the US/Mexico border, but the two democrats balked at the idea. Pelosi later complained about getting pissed on by a skunk and compared the wall to Trump’s penis.
The insanity continued today as Pelosi held a press conference to announce her plans to end the US government for the rest of time. Pelosi was asked if she would shut down the government over opposing Trump’s border wall funding.
“We just have to do it. It’s the imperative. It’s what’s at hand that we have to do,” replied Pelosi.
Pelosi went on to say that shutting down the government is, “a very bad thing to do.” She then blamed Republicans for all previous and future government shut downs and signaled she’d be fine if the government was shut down forever.
Pelosi was asked why President Trump would sign a spending bill from the democrats that didn’t include funding for the border wall.
“Does he want to have government closed forever?” Pelosi asked rhetorically.
What Pelosi is threatening here is a permanent government shut down. She says she won’t send the president a spending bill that contains one dime of funding for the border wall so if he won’t sign it, she’s prepared to shut the government down forever. It’s a certainty that she’d blame Republicans for her actions, because that’s how she rolls.
The truth of the matter is, Pelosi can’t shut the government down forever because she’s older than dirt. She’ll kick off one of these days and the government will be open once again. Also, because of the the insane agenda Pelosi has as the next Speaker, the House is going to flip back to Republican control in 2 years and she’ll be out once again.
Here’s kind of the weird thing, and it doesn’t make me feel right, but I agree with Pelosi on the government shutdown, but not for the same reasons. When the government shuts down, all of the essential things like the military and domestic security remain funded, it’s just mostly stupid money-wasting crap like welfare and endowment of the arts that gets cut off. I like the idea of taking a torch to the programs and agencies we waste billions of dollars on every year and going with a bare-bones federal government that only does the things the Constitution says they can do.
There are some good things that get cut off in a government shutdown, but for the most part it’s only the Democratic Party’s base of freeloaders and scumbags that will feel the pinch. For that reason alone, Pelosi will never shut the government down, let alone permanently. Democrats rely on lazy mooches to stay in power and if they shutdown the gravy train, there’d be no reason for anyone to vote for them.
Of course I am assuming that Pelosi meant what she said, which may not be the case as she’s not only a liar but also a lunatic. When she says she’ll shut the government down forever, it’s just as likely that she meant she’s been sexting with Leprechauns and cats can hitchhike because they have opposable thumbs.
