With the democrats in charge, the House Oversight Committee had President Trump’s disgraced former lawyer Micheal Cohen testify on stuff and things on Wednesday. Never mind that nothing Cohen alleges or has done is relevant to the Oversight Committee, this was all about “getting” Trump on a variety of made up charges. The thing is, Cohen, who is going to prison for lying to Congress, actually exonerated the President on Russian collusion, campaign finance violations, and everything else the democrats are screaming about. Oops.
Republican Rep. Jim Jordan pointed out in the hearing that Micheal Cohen is a convicted liar and that the democrats were salivating over his testimony, which was surely more lies. Even if what Cohen testified about was 100% true, and it’s likely not, all he really did was prove that Donald Trump hasn’t done one damn illegal or unethical thing.
One of the bigger loads of crap that the democrats are trying to get Trump on is violating campaign finance rules over his alleged “hush money” payments to “Horse Face” porn actress Stormy Daniels. Cohen testified that he paid Daniels with his own money to keep her quiet about an alleged affair and that Trump later reimbursed him with his own personal funds. If Trump used his own money, then it’s not a violation of campaign finances rules because the money didn’t come from his campaign’s coffers. Believe it or not, people are allowed to spend their own money on whatever the hell they want. There’s no crime here, nor is their an ethics violation.
Another thing democrats allege is that Trump is using the presidency to enrich himself and they point to a deal he had to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. Trump has admitted that prior to becoming president he was working on the deal, which again is not a crime. Cohen testified that Trump continued to pursue the deal because he didn’t think he was going to win the 2016 election. If Trump didn’t think he was going to win, it stands to reason that he wasn’t trying to leverage the presidency to make himself richer. Once again, Cohen exonerates the President.
The big finger pointed at Trump is over his alleged collusion with the Russians to steal the election away from Hillary Clinton. There hasn’t been one piece of evidence that suggests Trump worked with the Russians on anything, let alone influencing the 2106 election. Michael Cohen testified that he had never seen or heard anything from Trump that would suggest he colluded with the Russians. Sorry dems, there was no collusion.
One last bit of stupidity that democrats think proves Trump was involved in a criminal conspiracy was that he supposedly had knowledge of the DNC e-mail hack and subsequent document dump by Wikileaks. Cohen testified that he heard a call between Trump and Roger Stone where Stone told Trump that Wikileaks was going to release documents that would be embarrassing to Hillary Clinton. So what? Even if Trump knew that the DNC e-mails were going to be released, that doesn’t mean he had anything to do with them.
Cohen’s testimony was that in reaction to learning Wikileaks was going to release e-mails that would make Hillary look shittier that Trump said it was great. What’s he supposed to say? That sucks? The point is, even if Trump did know about the e-mail dump, there is nothing that remotely suggests he was involved in the hack of the DNC server, the transfer of the emails to Wikileaks, or their release. Seriously, there is no crime here whatsoever.
In the democrats’ big “gotcha” moment, they brought in a convicted liar who completely exonerated the President of everything the left has accused him of. There was no Russian collusion. There were no campaign finance violations. There was no effort to use the office of the presidency to enrich himself. There was no involvement in the DNC e-mail hack.
Obviously the democrats are going to try to spin “Rat Boy’s” testimony because they just made a big public show and it was embarrassing to their anti-Trump narrative. In realty all they did was show that Trump ain’t done nothing wrong.
