Liberal States Sue Trump For Trashing Michelle Obama’s Crappy School Lunch Mandate

First Lady of the United States is an unelected position that comes with no power but that didn’t stop Michelle Obama from mandating dietary restrictions on school lunches, resulting in gross inedible food being served to our nation’s school children. President Trump took Michelle’s crappy lunch edict and threw it in the garbage along with almost everything else the Obama’s did. Now a group of liberal states has banded together to sue Trump for not forcing them to serve disgusting food to kids because…Trump! Resistance!

ABC reports on this practical use of taxpayer funds:

A group of states led by New York is suing the Trump administration over changes it made to school lunch nutrition standards initially championed by Michelle Obama.

The lawsuit — brought by New York, California, Illinois, Minnesota, New Mexico, Vermont and Washington, D.C. — asks the court to put a hold on the administration’s sodium and whole grain standards and alleges that the changes are “not in accordance with the law.”

I’m not sure these states quite get what “the law” is. A former FLOTUS came up with something that she had no authority to impose and the current President did away with that. I’m not a lawyer, but even I can understand that Trump is not violating the law by getting rid of an illegal mandate.

The lawsuit argues that the changes to the 2012 school breakfast and lunch standards were rolled back without a required public comment period…

Was there a public comment period before Michelle Obama illegally set public policy with this mandate?

“Over a million children in New York — especially those in low-income communities and communities of color — depend on the meals served daily by their schools to be healthy, nutritious, and prepare them for learning. The Trump Administration has undermined key health benefits for our children — standards for salt and whole grains in school meals — with deliberate disregard for science, expert opinion, and the law. My office will use every tool at our disposal to fight back against these shameful rollbacks and ensure our children our protected,” said NY Attorney General Letitia James in a statement.

Wait. I’m confused. Couldn’t these states just impose their own dietary restrictions for school lunches? Trump rolling back Michelle’s mandate doesn’t mean that the states have to feed kids food with more salt and less whole grains. Trump is not preventing these states from imposing their own dietary standards at all.

These states are suing Trump because he isn’t forcing them to do something that they are free to do on their own and that makes this the most TDS thing of the week. Boy, those democrats sure know how to waste other people’s money on stupid shit, don’t they?

Ramping up the idiocy to 11, a second lawsuit was filed against the Trump administration by a group called Democracy Forward on behalf of the Center for Science in the Public Interest. Apparently the way to move democracy forward is by suing Trump for giving states the freedom to set their own dietary standards for school lunches. Also, neither of these groups comes close to being an aggrieved party, so why the hell are they suing? Oh yeah, I forgot: Trump!

“After working for over a decade to improve school nutrition and seeing the tremendous progress that schools are making, it’s heartbreaking to see the Trump administration reverse course. The Trump rollbacks are recklessly putting kids’ health in jeopardy,” said CSPI Vice President for Nutrition Margo Wootan.

So by Trump allowing states to decide if they want to let kids drink chocolate milk at school, he’s killing them? I take it back, this is the most TDS thing of the week.

When I was in school a very long time ago, the food we got at lunch was full of fat, salt, and white refined flour. It actually wasn’t half-bad. We also had chocolate milk, soda, and candy in the vending machines. For some strange reason most kids I went to school weren’t fat. Maybe, just maybe, the recent problem of childhood obesity has more to do with the fact that kids today sit around on their asses playing video games than being served a school lunch they might actually eat.
