Rabid Rashida Ups The Ante; Calls For $20 An Hour Minimum Wage

Never one to be accused of not having big ideas, a member of the communist “Squad” has one-upped Bernie Sanders with a call for a $20 an hour minimum wage.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib continues to bask in the attention of the media coverage of the radical freshman Democrats of The Squad and their public quarrel with President Trump.

The foul-mouthed congresswoman who has vowed to “impeach the motherf*cker” in reference to Trump has upped her rhetoric several notches and during a big speech before a friendly audience at the NAACP, she made a big announcement about her future.

Rep. Tlaib thrilled audience who showed up to hear her speak on her home turf in Detroit when she declared that she would not leave Congress without impeaching Trump.

Via The Hill, “Tlaib: I’m not going anywhere ‘until I impeach this president'”:

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) said Monday she’s “not going nowhere, not until I impeach this president,” amid ongoing attacks from President Trump on herself and three other progressive freshman congresswomen, according to CNN.

Tlaib, one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress, made the remark at the NAACP’s national convention in Detroit on Monday.

Tlaib did not specifically address the Trump tweets in her speech but invoked “the squad,” the colloquial term for the four congresswomen, in her address.

“We need bold action, folks. I know what’s happening out there … it’s beyond just the four of us,” she said. “The squad is all of you. I can tell you, you are all the squad, trust me. If you support equity, you support justice, you are one of us.”

Following that applause line, she then rolled out a policy proposal that was so radically far-left that it makes Bernie Sanders look like a staunch capitalist.

In touting her Building Our Opportunities to Survive and Thrive (BOOST) Act, Tlaib is calling for a radical redistribution of wealth scheme that would raise taxes on productive citizens and give $3000-$6000 to the lazy and unmotivated as a guaranteed income.

Breitbart describes her proposal as follows:

Tlaib introduced her anti-poverty legislation – the Building Our Opportunities to Survive and Thrive (BOOST) Act – last month and spoke about it at the NAACP convention over the weekend. The proposal offers a guaranteed income – up to $6,000 per year – to families and individuals under certain financial thresholds via a “refundable tax credit that can be paid monthly.”

The Michigan lawmaker’s BOOST Act serves as her response to what she calls the “GOP Tax Scam,” despite the fact that two-thirds of Americans will pay less in taxes in 2018, thanks to the tax cuts.

“Recently, I introduced the Boost Act. This legislation completely repeals the GOP Tax Scam that is only helping wealthy individuals – the rich, the corporations,” she told the crowd.

“And do you know what I did with that money? Do you know what I said? We’re going to go ahead and put it in the pockets of folks like everyday Americans,” she said, noting that families making less than $100,000 could get up to $6,000 per year.

Taking the moral route, Tlaib said it is important to give money back to the people who actually “earned” it, suggesting that wealthy individuals do not earn or deserve to keep the fruits of their labor.

But she wasn’t finished…

During a speech to another group, Tlaib one-upped the braying old communist crank’s calls for a $15 an hour mandatory minimum wage with the rollout of her demand for a $20 an hour minimum wage.

No, that is not an error; Tlaib wants to use the power of the government to force businesses to pay burger flippers and other unskilled workers $20 bucks per hour.

But like Comrade Bernie, she fails to acknowledge that such increases would be detrimental to those same unskilled workers who she is pandering to who will suffer the most once businesses cut staffing and hours or move into automation.

Not much new from rabid Rashida, just more of the same demagoguery designed to appeal to people of color and those whose resentment over their own failures have made them very susceptible to what many would describe as communist ideas.
