In what must have been an orgasmic epiphany, Elizabeth Warren found a way to pair her hatred of big corporations with her disgust for Constitutional rights. The former Indian Princess is demanding that Walmart stop selling guns immediately. Because she’s a democrat and knows absolutely nothing about the things that enrage her, she is telling the retailer to stop selling “assault weapons” which they don’t carry. Technically she gets the win because Walmart stopped selling semi-automatic rifles 4 years ago.
Last week a leftist kook shot up an El Paso Walmart, killing 22 people. In response, Warren is shaking her tomahawk at Walmart, blaming them for the massacre:
Companies that sell guns have a responsibility to the safety of their communities. @Walmart is one of the largest gun retailers in the world. The weapons they sell are killing their own customers and employees. No profit is worth those lives. Do the right thing—stop selling guns.

The implication here is that Walmart sold the AK-type rifle to the El Paso shooter, which he then used to kill people in a Walmart with. There is absolutely no evidence that the killer bought his rifle at a Walmart, and in fact Walmart stopped selling semi-automatic rifles in 2015. Also, I’m not sure Walmart ever sold AK-type weapons, but I could be wrong on that as I don’t shop at Walmart.
So Warren is demanding, in part, that Walmart stop selling guns that they don’t sell. If she wants to continue the winning streak she should demand that McDonald’s stop serving Whoppers and that the democratic party stop having such good solutions to real problems.
But Warren is also demanding that Walmart stop selling guns entirely, because as she says, these firearms are being used to kill Walmart employees and customers. I’d be willing to bet that no gun ever sold at a Walmart has been used to kill store staff or patrons. The reason why I think this way is because legally purchased firearms are almost never used in violent crime. Walmart requires a background check on gun sales, so chances are these firearms have only been used for lawful purposes.
Plus, Walmart sells hunting rifles and shotguns, which aren’t exactly the weapons of choice for armed robbers or spree killers.
In order to justify her demand that Walmart bow to her ill-informed hysteria, she put out this stupid analogy:
Sometimes, companies recognize that they have an obligation to the lives, health, and safety of their communities. In 2014, for example, CVS voluntarily stopped selling tobacco products. Cigarette sales went down, and more smokers tried to quit. That’s progress.

Let’s see if I have this straight: If Walmart stops selling guns people will try to stop killing?
I’d love to see the science behind this claim. Surely some liberal researcher has put out a paper called: Less Guns In Retail Chains Suppresses The Human Urge To Kill.
The only thing that would happen if Walmart stop selling guns is that Bass Pro Shops would see an increase in sales. Not one life would be spared and not one less gun would make its way into private hands. Warren wants Walmart to do something that would cost them money but wouldn’t make a damn bit of difference.
If Warren truly wants to save lives maybe she should demand that Planned Parenthood stop selling abortions. If PP stopped providing abortions hundreds of thousands of lives would be spared every year, which makes the zero lives saved by Walmart potentially ditching guns look pretty sad.
