It’s widely known that the liberal media hates to see President Trump attract record crowds to his rallies so they spend considerable resources “fact-checking” the numbers, which usually means lying badly with easily debunked underestimations. Lesser known is the liberal media’s free propaganda service to anti-gun group Moms Demand Action in vastly overstating the size of their rallies. The faux grassroots organization held a series of anti-gun demonstrations over the weekend and going by the media coverage these gatherings were massive. The pictures however tell a different story.
The Bangor Daly News brought this:
In response to two recent deadly mass shootings in Ohio and Texas, about 100 protesters rallied in downtown Portland on Sunday afternoon to advocate for gun control legislation.
Members of the Maine chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America organized the event, which was also intended to raise awareness of not just mass shootings, but also domestic violence, suicide and other forms of gun violence.
A hundred protesters? Let’s check out the picture they included with this coverage:
That’s 100 protesters if they are rounding every number up to 100. Otherwise it looks like around 25.
The “100 protesters” was a reoccurring theme in the coverage of these MDM rallies and I’m assuming Shannon Watts personally instructed the media to use this lie.
This is from ABC 13 in Houston:
More than 100 people gathered on the steps of Houston City Hall Sunday night to demand more gun control.
Moms Demand Action rallied in Iowa last week, sending their message to leading democrats in the race for the White House. Now, they bring their message to Houston.
“These are mothers for action and we deserve what they are demanding,” said Congressman Al Green.
Yeah, that’s the same Al Green who looks like a caveman and wants to impeach President Trump for racism. In any case, let’s see the “more than a hundred” protesters he was speaking to:
Still looks like around 25 idiots to me.
CBS Detroit reports that there were “hundreds” of protesters at the MDA rally, meaning at least 200:
A rally in Detroit near City Hall Sunday brought out hundreds of people calling on Congress to tighten the nation’s gun laws.
Democratic U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell of Dearborn noted that the rally followed an eight-hour period in which eight people were shot in Detroit, one fatally.
Dingell told the gathering that, “We’ve got to do something.”
The rally was organized by the Michigan chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and Students Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
Here’s the thing on this one, CBS Detroit couldn’t be bothered to take a picture or show video of these hundreds of anti-gun protesters. I’m going to assume that means there was around 5 people, mostly homeless in MDA shirts.
rrstar broke the sad news that MDA couldn’t quite crack 100 in Rockford, Ill:
About 90 people gathered Sunday night at the downtown City Market pavilion to join with other Americans in supporting efforts to end gun violence.
The Recess Rally was one of many held across the U.S. on Saturday and Sunday that were designed to persuade U.S. legislators who have recessed to go back to work to act on sensible gun control measures.
The events were organized by gun-control organizations Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action for Gun Control.
Let’s see what “about 90” people looks like:
I actually counted on this one and there are 28 people in the picture, not including the rando wandering around in the parking lot. So 28 is about 90? That must be some of that liberal math I’ve been hearing so much about.
But the saddest one of all was in Boston as WHDH reports:
U.S. Sen. Edward Markey and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh are among the speakers planning to participate in a rally calling for stricter gun control measures.
The two Democrats will join the Sunday afternoon event on Boston City Hall Plaza, organized by the Massachusetts chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
Activists describe shootings as a public health crisis.
WHDH didn’t give any crowd estimates for this rally and perhaps this is why:
I’m not kidding when I say that is the only picture they included with their coverage of this “massive” Moms Demand Action rally. Ain’t nobody there.
According to the media coverage of these events, there were at least 600 anti-gun protesters in 5 cities. According to the pictures of these events, it looks like there were around 75 people in 5 cities, which averages out to 15 gun-haters per event. How did any of this crap qualify as news?
This is the same kind of anti-freedom fake news that goes on when the media reports that 90% of Americans want an “assault weapons” ban including Republicans and NRA members. They just make this shit up to push their anti-gun narrative.
