Walmart Eliminates Mass Shooting Threat By Banning Guns In Its Stores (Or Not)

Last month a crazy mofo shot up an El Paso Walmart killing 22 people. To make sure something like this never happens again, Walmart is banning law-abiding customers from carrying firearms in their stores. That way if another crazy mofo shoots up a Walmart there will be absolutely no good guys with guns who could potentially stop the shooter. Hey wait a minute, that doesn’t eliminate the threat of mass shootings in Walmarts. In fact, becoming a “gun-free” zone invites mass shootings, acting like a magnet for lunatics. This is what happens when a corporation lets liberals set company policy.

Here is possibly the dumbest paragraph ever written and it comes from CNN:

The company, America’s largest retailer, said it will stop selling handgun ammunition and “short-barrel rifle ammunition,” such as the .223 caliber and 5.56 caliber, that can also be used on assault-style weapons after selling all of its current inventory. Walmart (WMT) will also stop selling handguns in Alaska, the only state where it still sells handguns. And Walmart will request that customers no longer openly carry guns into its 4,700 US stores, or its Sam’s Club stores, in states that allow open carry.

What the f*ck is “short-barrel rifle ammunition” and how does it differ from long-barrel ammo? I have 2 rifles that use .223 and neither of them are short-barreled. Can I still get .223 at Walmart if I tell them it’s for a legal weapon with a normal barrel length?

I’m sure this comes from CNN’s knowledgable editorial staff, but they say that this “short-barrel rifle ammunition” can be used “on” assault-style weapons. I have noticed a recent shift on the left from calling semi-automatic weapons “assault weapons” to “assault-style weapons.” Joe Biden did it yesterday and here is CNN doing it today. I’m guessing a memo went out.

Also, ammo isn’t used on weapons it’s used in weapons. I guess you could shoot an AK-47 with an AR-15, but why would you? This is a really weird way to say that certain ammo works in certain guns.

“It’s clear to us that the status quo is unacceptable,” said Walmart CEO Doug McMillon.

So people exercising their Constitutional rights is now unacceptable? Got it.

McMillion, who said he was a gun owner himself, took pains to avoid alienating customers.

I’m not sure this guy understands what the word “alienating” means. He won’t let customers legally carry firearms in his stores and then there’s this:

In addition, McMillon said that he would send letters to the White House and congressional leaders that “call for action” on “common sense” gun safety measures. McMillon said Congress should debate re-authorizing the assault weapons ban and expand background checks.

“We encourage our nation’s leaders to move forward and strengthen background checks and to remove weapons from those who have been determined to pose an imminent danger,” McMillon said.

I don’t know about you, but I feel alienated by Walmart as a gun owner. Walmart not only doesn’t want my business, but they are actively lobbying the government to take away my Constitutional rights. Not that I’ve shopped at Walmart much before, but I’m definitely out for the future.

Walmart obviously won’t take as bad of a hit as Dick’s Sporting Goods did when they went anti-gun, but they will see a noticeable drop in sales because of this. On the plus side, all of the democrats who accuse Walmart of not paying their employees a living wage will suddenly be in love with the retailer and their greedy corporate leadership.
