The Three Stooges Moe ‘Bowlcut’ Is Now A Symbol Of Hate

Why I oughta…The Anti-Defamation League just turned Moe from The Three Stooges into a raging white supremacist. According to the organization the “bowlcut” is now a symbol of hate as evil as a swastika. Sure, Moe was the meanest of the Stooges, but his anger was directed largely against Curly, who was a skinhead. In reality, Moe’s hair represents resistance to bigotry, but whatever.

The ADL released its updated list of symbols of hate and there are some curious things on the list. They have finally decided that the “OK” hand gesture is hateful, which means no one is allowed to okay anything anymore, lest they be a neo-Nazi:

Okay Hand Gesture

A common hand gesture that a 4chan trolling campaign claimed in 2017 had been appropriated as a symbol meaning “white power.” Used by many on the right–not just extremists–for the purpose of trolling liberals, the symbol eventually came to be used by actual white supremacists as well.

No one is more pissed than newly-minted white supremacist Andrew Cuomo:

Even crazier the McDonald’s Moon Man “Mac Tonight” is hateful:

Moon Man

“Moon Man” is a meme derived from a character in 1980s McDonald’s restaurant commercials that was appropriated by white supremacists, especially from the alt right, who attach it to racist songs, language and imagery.

And I thought that was just a symbol of horrible food.

Unfortunately punctuation is also a problem:

Echo

The “echo,” as it is sometimes called, is the on-line use by anti-Semites of multiple parentheses around a person’s name to indicate that they are Jewish or, when used around a phrase or term, such as (((banker))), to imply that the word “Jewish” should be added to it.

I might be in trouble (I use open and closed parenthesis all the time).

One of the biggest surprises on the list is that “hate” is hateful:

Hate

It is common for white supremacists to deny being racists or to claim to that the groups to which they belong are not hate groups, but in fact the word “hate” itself is commonly used as a white supremacist symbol for tattoos and clothing. Many white supremacists use the word to openly proclaim their hatred of people unlike them.

Someone actually thought it was important to include the word “hate” as symbol hate.

It get’s worse because if you oppose domestic terrorism, you just might be a racist:

Anti-Antifa Images

“Anti-Antifa” images are white supremacist symbols and memes directed against antifa activists. Antifa (short for “anti-fascist”) are left-wing and anarchist activists who focus on directly confronting white supremacists.

So if Antifa sucker-punches you, pepper sprays you, or hits you with a concrete milkshake, you have to take it or you’re worse than Hitler.

Finally, looking like Moe may be the worst hate crime of all:

Bowlcut/Dylann Roof

The “Bowlcut” is an image of a bowl-shaped haircut resembling the one sported by white supremacist mass killer Dylan Roof. People who use the “bowlcut” image or other “bowl” references admire Roof and call for others to emulate his racist murders.

There are a half a billion men in China with this haircut who are all very confused right now.

The ADL missed a bunch of stuff. I couldn’t help but to notice that a lot of neo-Nazis wear pants, so obviously pants are symbols of hate. I also understand that Alt-Right white nationalists eat food and drink liquids, so draw your own conclusions on that.

It’s finally come to this. Every innocuous thing that everyone does is now hateful because a handful of knucklehead racists do them too.

Here’s what I don’t understand about this silliness: One of biggest neo-Nazi groups is called the National Socialist Movement and Hitler’s Nazi part was officially The National Socialist German Workers’ Party. Why isn’t socialism listed as a symbol of hate?
