With liberals in charge, sooner or later every weirdo and scumbag will become a protected class of people. In New Orleans, it’s sooner as a teenager has been charged with a hate crime for beating the crap out of a registered sex offender. This is not an exaggeration, the only reason why this kid was charged with a hate crime is because he specifically targeted a sex offender. What that means is that in New Orleans, rapists and child molesters are now a protected class of people and that is sick.
Nola.com reports that 17-year-old Tyrin Calloway recently got a notice in the mail alerting residents to registered sex offenders in the area. As fate would have it, Calloway was at a convenience store when he recognized a customer as one of the sex-offenders pictured in the mailer.
Calloway followed the sex offender out of the store and accused him of raping a relative of his. The sex offender denied any knowledge of the rape and drove off. Calloway followed the sex offender by car to another location and a fight broke out.
As the sex offender stepped out of his vehicle, Calloway beat the snot out of him. When police arrive, the sex offender was “bleeding heavily, with cuts and swelling to his face and head.”
Calloway readily admitted to the assault and was arrested. Upon questioning, Callow said he made up the story about his relative being raped by the sex offender and that’s when the cops hit him with a hate crime charge:
Now, besides facing a count of misdemeanor battery, Tyrin Calloway stands accused of a hate crime, apparently on the theory that he targeted his alleged victim, a stranger, for being a registered sex offender, according to Criminal District Court records.
The news further explains this mystery, or maybe they don’t:
Louisiana law provides for hate crime charges when victims are targeted “because of actual or perceived race, age, gender, religion, color, creed, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, or ancestry of that person or the owner or occupant of that property or because of actual or perceived membership or service in, or employment with, an organization.”
The New Orleans PD interpretation of the state’s hate crime law means that “sex offender” is either an occupation, a disability, or a sexual orientation. However you look at it, that’s pretty messed up.
It could be possible that the cops are going on the “membership in an organization” clause here. Technically there are are rape and child molestation groups, though none of them are recognized as being legitimate or even acceptable. Well, besides New Orleans where apparently being a member of the National American Man/Boy Love Association offers hate crime protections.
The police further protected this sex offender by refusing to releases his name. Sure they sent out a mailer with his picture on it, but now don’t want to give anyone the idea that he’s a vile pice of filth.
The original intent of Louisiana’s hate crime law was to include protection for police officers. The “Blue Lives Matter” clause was to keep scumbags from targeting and attacking cops. Now this law has cops protecting registered sex offenders. Clearly something was lost in the translation.
