Liberals have a mantra to never let a tragedy go to waste and they mean it. Several leftist have already tried to tie the coronavirus crisis to gun control, but the Brady Campaign took the fear mongering and hysteria up to 11. According to the gun control group, the coronavirus outbreak will result in more kids being shot to death. Yup, they’re saying the end result of a viral pandemic will be the bullet-riddled bodies of children lying in the streets.
The Los Angeles Times did a piece on how the coronavirus scare tactics of the liberal media has people panic-buying guns faster than if a democrat was in the White House:
Gun sales are surging in many U.S. states, especially in those hit hardest by the coronavirus — California, New York and Washington. But there’s also been an uptick in less-affected areas, with some first-time gun buyers fearing an unraveling of the social order and some gun owners worried that the government might use its emergency powers to restrict gun purchases.
In reality the LA Times was describing people stocking up on ammo, not guns, but that’s unimportant here, because they felt they had to include something from the Brady Campaign and boy was it a doozy:
Some gun control groups have raised concerns about children out of school for the next several weeks, which could result in more children and teens being killed in homes with unsecured guns.
“The unintended consequence of these panic-induced purchases in response to the Covid-19 pandemic could be a tragic increase of preventable gun deaths for the loved ones these individuals are trying to protect,” said Kris Brown of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
That’s a special kind of stupid right there. Is there some science behind this claim that coronavirus is going to lead to more kids getting killed by gunfire, or is this just the Brady Campaign blowing something out of their asses?
My guess is that what they are getting to is that the coronavirus should be used a pretext to ban gun and ammo sales, leading to confiscation of legally owned firearms.
Hey, you can’t blame the Brady Campaign for trying. If they aren’t screeching about gun control they have no reason to exist, so they gotta go with what’s available. Since all large public gatherings have been banned the chances of a mass shooting they can exploit is almost zero so they must find other reasons to scream that we should all be disarmed.
If it wasn’t coronavirus, it would been the tornados in Tennessee or sexism forcing Elizabeth Warren out of the race. Sorry, I couldn’t actually think of anything that’s been in the news lately because it’s all-coronavirus all the time.
The irony here is that the liberal media has been freaking people the f*ck out, making them think the world is coming to an end. Of course people are going to stock up on ammo, at the least the smart ones. If this is truly the extinction-level event the liberal media says it is, you’re going to need something to repel the hordes of zombies and throwing rolls of toilet paper ain’t going to cut it.
