While most Americans are getting restless about reopening the country and getting their jobs back, criminals scumbags are thriving. The liberal media is in hysterics that honest hard-working people are protesting the pointless coronavirus lockdown but they are silent on killer thugs who don’t obey the stay at home and social distancing orders. Murders in liberal cities have spiked while the government has forced the good people into poverty.
Let’s take a tour of some liberal cities during this coronavirus lockdown.
First, how are things going in our nation’s capitol, Washington D.C.? Not well according to the Washington City Paper:
D.C. has not gone a week without a homicide since Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a public health emergency over the coronavirus pandemic on March 11.
There have been 17 murders in D.C. since the city saw its first confirmed case of COVID-19 on March 7, and 46 murders since the start of 2020, according to data from the Metropolitan Police Department. Despite a pandemic and orders from the mayor to stay inside, D.C. is on track to match its homicide rate from last year, when the city saw the highest murder count in a decade, at 166. And like last year, the overwhelming majority of homicides involved a gun.
“Our violent offenders, particularly the ones who are inclined to use firearms, are not particularly moved by the COVID-19 pandemic. They will pick up an illegal firearm and use it whenever it suits their purposes and I think for them it’s business as normal,” said MPD Chief Peter Newsham.
If killing is your business, then business is good in D.C.
Same goes for Baltimore as reported by CBS 13:
Despite the coronavirus pandemic and stay-at-home orders, the homicide rate in Baltimore City is trending ahead of last year’s record.
So far this year, there have been 75 homicides in Baltimore. Compare that to 71 on this date last year.
In 2019, 348 murders, a rate of 57 killings per 100,000 people. That is the worst rate in Baltimore history.
Baltimore thugs are overachieving is the feel-good liberal story of the coronavirus pandemic.
Surly Chicago has a handle on this, right? Not so much as the Chicago Tribune says:
Chicago saw an uptick in murders and shootings during the first quarter of 2020, compared to the same period last year, according to data collected by Chicago police.
In total, 93 people were killed in Chicago between Jan. 1 and March 31st, police said. That is a rise of about 13% compared to the 82 murders during the same period last year.
Through the end of March, the city recorded 419 shootings, or a rise of about 22% from the same period in 2019, when there were 344 shootings, police said.
With all those bullets whizzing by, Chicago really is the Windy City.
This seems bad, but one would imagine the bold leadership of Mayor Bill di Blasio would bring NYC’s murder numbers down. Not so much according to the NY Daily News:
Murders have surged in New York City for the second straight week in spite of the coronavirus lockdown — pushing the 2020 homicide total past the number of killings in the same period last year.
The NYPD on Monday reported 10 homicides last week, compared to five in the same week in 2019. There were 11 murders the week before that compared to four in the same time period last year.
The spike reverses a trend seen in the first three months the year. At the end of March, the number of murders was down 10% compared to the first quarter of 2019. As of Monday, there were 92 murders year-to-date — up nearly 6% from 87 murders a year ago.
In defense of the NYC thugs, they heard NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo bitching that he didn’t have enough ventilators so the brave criminals of the city were out ventilating muthaf*ckers.
Liberals freakout on moms taking their kids to the playground or people paddle boarding, claiming these people are putting everyone’s lives at risk. Yet, these same self-righteous fools won’t utter a peep about criminals defying the coronavirus lockdown to literally kill people. That’s all you need to know about how shitty liberals are.
