This is apparently a lot weirder to me than anyone in the media. President Trump announced that he is taking the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine but didn’t’t offer an explanation as to why. No reporters thought to press him on this like it was a totally normal and uneventful thing. The drug has been touted by the President as a promising cure for coronavirus, but as far as anyone knows, Trump doesn’t have COVID-19 or malaria. No seriously, why is Trump taking this drug?
At a roundtable with restaurant leaders in the White House’s State Dining Room, President Trump nonchalantly announced, “I’m taking it – hydroxychloroquine.”
“I think it’s good. I’ve heard a lot good stories. And if it’s not good, I’ll tell you right, I’m not going to get hurt by it,” Trump added.
The President explained that he consulted with the White House doctor who. despite Trump not testing positive for COIVID-19, gave the thumbs up.
“I asked him what do you think? He said, ‘Well if you’d like it.’ I said, ‘Yeah, I’d like it. I’d like to take it,’” Trump said.
Trump said he’s been taking hydroxychloroquine with a zinc supplement for about a week and a half. When asked what evidence he had that the drug is safe, Trump gave this 5-star Yelp! review:
“Here’s my evidence: I get a lot of positive calls about it. So far, I seem to be OK,” said Trump.
Let’s get to the question of why, that none of the pool reporters thought about asking. Why in the hell would President Trump be taking this drug that has been anecdotally-linked to curing coronavirus but also clinically-linked to to severe side-effects like heart problems? The general consensus on using hydroxychloroquine for coronavirus patients has been as a last-ditch effort when all else failed.
Does Trump have the coronavirus? He doesn’t seem symptomatic, but about half of all people who get it never get sick.
As Def-Con News told you, there have been way too many people close to the President coming up positive for COVID-19 for it to be a coincidence. We put on our tin-foil hats and even speculated that there was a deep state effort to get Trump infected as an alternative to another bullshit impeachment.
Trump said he’s been taking hydroxychloroquine for a week and half which just so happens to be around the time a bunch of White House staffers started getting coronavirus. Maybe they got to Trump and he’s taking the drug in hopes of staving off symptoms or perhaps he figured out what’s going on and is taking it as a precaution.
Another explanation is that the President is trolling the shit out of the liberal media, who has accused Trump a literally killing people by touting hydroxychloroquine as a promising cure for the coronavirus. From the second Trump mentioned the drug as a potential cure, there has been a collective liberal freak-out. Perhaps, he just threw this thing out there to get a rise out of liberals.
In this scenario, you can bet Adam Schiff will put together a committee to prove that Trump betrayed his oath of office and must be impeached for colluding with hydroxychloroquine to influence the pandemic.
Whatever the case, my Spidey Senses are tingling on this one and I feel there’s a lot more going on here. There’s no way in hell Trump would take hydroxychloroquine just for the hell of it. The fact that the liberal media couldn’t care less makes me think this is ever weirder.
