We know that Obama is terrified to even utter the name “Trump” lest he appear to stick the former president with a meathook. That fear is so real that Obama will not even go to the White House for his presidential portrait unveiling. Well, either that or Obama is a chicken who doesn’t want to face the man he talks so crap about, albeit in the cryptic code of “some folks.” If his two terms didn’t already prove that Obama talks a big game but can’t back it up, this latest act of cowardice does.
NBC reports:
It’s been a White House tradition for decades: A first-term president hosts a ceremony in the East Room for the unveiling of the official portrait of his immediate predecessor that will hang in the halls of the White House for posterity.
Republican presidents have done it for Democratic presidents, and vice versa — even when one of them ascended to the White House by defeating or sharply criticizing the other.
Yet this modern ritual won’t be taking place between Obama and President Donald Trump, according to people familiar with the matter.
Then check this bit of fake news out. NBC tries to make it seem like Trump is the reason this ceremony won’t take place:
Trump is unconcerned about shunning yet another presidential custom, and he has attacked Obama to an extent no other president has done to a predecessor.
But in actuality it’s Obama:
Obama, for his part, has no interest in participating in the post-presidency rite of passage so long as Trump is in office, the people familiar with the matter said.
If Obama is the one who doesn’t want to do the ceremony, how is this President Trump shunning a presidential custom? The answer is: because NBC is democratic party propaganda and not an actual news source.
As it turns out, NBC is really good at being full of shit. Behold:
The process for the White House portraits begins near the end of a president’s term or soon after, and it takes a few years to complete.
After the president and the first lady select an artist, the privately funded White House Historical Association negotiates a contract that includes a confidentiality agreement so the artist’s identity and details of the portrait are kept secret. Stewart McLaurin, the association’s president, said in February 2017 that the organization was in discussions with the Obamas about their portraits.
The Obamas subsequently selected an artist, and a contract was finalized in early 2017, according to people familiar with the matter. But the process stalled there, they said.
Typically, the next step would be to schedule sittings for the former president and the first lady, followed by a back-and-forth with the artist about what they like and don’t like. And once the portraits are approved by the former first couple, they are delivered to the White House curator, who schedules an unveiling.
The Obamas never even sat for their portraits, which means these portraits don’t exist, which also means there has never been a planned ceremony. Shouldn’t that be the the only story here?
NBC is trying to claim that President Trump is such a bad guy that he canceled the traditional unveiling of a predecessor’s portrait, but the Obama’s cancelled the tradition of having their portraits painted in the first place. Trump didn’t cancel anything because there was nothing to cancel.
The actual story here is that Obama always was and will always be a lazy POS and couldn’t be bothered to sit for his presidential portrait. That NBC turned that into an anti-Trump rant just proves why nobody trust the liberal media.
