Being a “Karen” in New York could soon be a hate crime if the knee-jerk liberals who run the state have their way. Following the latest faux outrage of a white woman calling the cops on a black man, state lawmakers want to not only make it illegal, but tack a hate crime charge on to boot. Presumably black “Karens” could still call the cops on any race of person because nobody wants to get carried away with this stupidity.
Oh, when Karens take a walk with their dogs off leash in the famous Bramble in NY’s Central Park, where it is clearly posted on signs that dogs MUST be leashed at all times, and someone like my brother (an avid birder) politely asks her to put her dog on the leash. pic.twitter.com/3YnzuATsDm

Earlier this week, liberals were outraged over an argument in NYC’s Central Park. A white woman, identified as Amy Cooper, was walking her dog off-leash when a black man, identified as Christian Cooper, yelled at her to put the dog back on a leash. She called the police claiming she was threatened by the man, somehow that was racist, and the woman ended up losing her job.
NY lawmakers don’t think it’s bad enough that white women get fired for something that isn’t remotely racist, they want to throws these “Karens” into jail too.
PIX 11 reports:
Falsely reporting an incident as a hate crime would be criminalized in New York if legislation proposed Tuesday in the wake of a viral video is passed.
The video, widely shared Monday, shows a confrontation between a white woman walking her dog off a leash in Central Park and a black man bird watching in Central Park.
“He is recording me and threatening me and my dog,” Amy Cooper, the woman, is heard saying. “I’m being threatened by a man in the Ramble! Please send the cops immediately.”
No arrests were made, though police did respond to Central Park.
New York State lawmakers Assemblyman Felix Ortiz and Senator Brian Benjamin introduced legislation to criminalize similar actions in the state.
“In the past year, we have seen many instances throughout both New York State and the country of people calling 911 on black people who are going about their everyday lives, only to be interrupted by someone calling the police for reasons that range from caution, to suspicious inkling to all out hated,” said Ortiz.
The black guy wasn’t going about his everyday life, he initiated a confrontation with the white woman.
“It is frightening that this incident happened just blocks from where many of my constituents live and that this woman was so willing to fabricate a story despite being filmed. I worry that if she had not been filmed, this woman may have been given the benefit of the doubt, and that this man could have faced serious, perhaps life threatening consequences if the police had arrived,” said Benjamin.
Here’s the thing nobody is talking about in this incident. The black guy admitted he threatened the woman. Check out his Facebook post:
“Look, if you’re going to do what you want, I’m going to do what I want, but you’re not going to like it,” is a threat and it’s not unreasonable for the woman to have taken it that way. On top of which, she also had a reasonable fear that this guy was going to poison her dog with his pocket full of treats.
Nowhere in the video does the woman use a racial slur and even the black guy never alleges she did. How is this racist? Because he’s black?
The woman worked for Franklin Templeton who fired her saying they don’t tolerate racists. Her life is already ruined and if New York has it’s way she and other white people like her would be sent to prison for a hate crime.
Black criminals in NY already know they can’t be arrested for most crimes and if they are, they get out of jail with no bail. Imagine how it will embolden them if there is a law that criminalizes white people calling the police on black people.
