WSJ Writer Cancelled For Criticizing Biden’s Wife

When Obama was president, any criticism of him or his wife was labeled “racist” and dealt with by swift retribution. During the Trump years, criticism of the President and First Lady was not only encouraged, but rewarded. Now that Joe Biden has successfully stolen the White House, it’s back to protecting him and his wife from all criticism, no matter how apt it is. A Wall Street Journal writer has been cancelled for daring to argue that it is pretentious of Biden’s wife to call herself a “doctor” when she has a Doctorate in Education, not medicine.

Jill Biden has masters in education from West Chester State College, a masters in English from Villanova University, and a PhD in education from the University of Delaware. She currently teaches English at a community college. While people with PhD or doctorates are technically doctors, Jill is much of a doctor as Bill Nye is a scientist. Yet, she insists people call her “Dr. Jill Biden.”

Jospeh Epstein, writing for the Wall Street Journal, called Jill out for the ridiculousness of her preferred title in an opinion piece:

Madame First Lady—Mrs. Biden—Jill—kiddo: a bit of advice on what may seem like a small but I think is a not unimportant matter. Any chance you might drop the “Dr.” before your name? “Dr. Jill Biden” sounds and feels fraudulent, not to say a touch comic. Your degree is, I believe, an Ed.D., a doctor of education, earned at the University of Delaware through a dissertation with the unpromising title “Student Retention at the Community College Level: Meeting Students’ Needs.” A wise man once said that no one should call himself “Dr.” unless he has delivered a child. Think about it, Dr. Jill, and forthwith drop the doc.

Epstein then suggested that Jill, “Forget the small thrill of being Dr. Jill, and settle for the larger thrill of living for the next four years in the best public housing in the world as First Lady Jill Biden.”

Epstein wrote this opinion piece on Friday and by Saturday he was cancelled. Northwest University, where he was a emeritus lecturer, removed him from their ranks:

Northwestern issued a statement confirming that Epstein had been shitcanned because he, “Published an opinion piece that cast unmerited aspersion on Dr. Jill Biden.”

“While we firmly support academic freedom and freedom of expression, we do not agree with Mr. Epstein’s opinion and believe the designation of doctor is well deserved by anyone who has earned a Ph.D., an Ed.D. or an M.D. Northwestern is firmly committed to equity, diversity and inclusion, and strongly disagrees with Mr. Epstein’s misogynistic views,” read the statement.

What Northwestern meant was that they support academic freedom and freedom of expression as long as it’s not in the form of criticism of a democrat. That’s a very important distinction that they left out.

They didn’t leave out the part about how Epstein’s opinion was “misogynistic” however. See, Jill Biden is a woman and a democrat, so any criticism of her is going to be labeled “sexist as hell.” It’s the same way criticism of Obama was “racist as hell” because he is a black man and a democrat.

I wonder how they will tag criticism of Joe Biden, seeing as he’s a white man and all. My guess is they will say it’s “agist as hell” because his only claim to aggrieved minority status is that he was born around the same time the Earth was cooling.
