An Old Friend Says Goodbye To William Munny

The sorrow, sympathy, and tributes from the Def-Con News community over the passing of our brother William Munny has been both overwhelming and touching. I received an e-mail from an old friend of Munny’s who can longer post on our site so, with his permission, I thought I’d share it with you all:

Hello, Brian:

This is “Join Or Die” from the old Downtrend days. I have not posted any comments for over three years because I have had serious health issues dating back to 2017-2018 when I had to undergo two back-to-back open heart surgeries to save my life. The first was a quintuple bypass and the second was having an artificial aortic stem with titanium aorta valve surgically placed onto my heart.

During that time, William Munny and Mr. Lee reached out to me (called me) to wish me well and pray with me for a successful recovery. These men did this kind thing while only knowing me as “Join Or Die”, another concerned Patriot that was worried about the direction of this country.

I greatly appreciated their gestures and the time that they took out of their lives to show support and provide comfort to someone who was desperately in need of some positive energy and thoughts in my life.

I will never forget what these men did and will be forever grateful to them.

And, that is why I am contacting you now. I have given up my Disqus account and can no longer post on your site, but I wanted to reach out to say how deeply sorry I am about the passing of Mr. Munny.

He was such a positive force, a man of strong principles and a true Patriot.

Please share my most sincere condolences to his family and friends and those who remain on defconnews.

Even though I have not posted and had to take a step back from my political activities for my own health, I have closely followed the group on your social media platforms, especially William Munny’s posts.

He and I talked and texted every so often and I told him how I felt about his writing. He was so intelligent and his opinions were always spot on in my opinion.

William Munny will be missed by so many. We are all better for knowing him and interacting with him.

I always felt that if the time ever came when we had to fight for our right to live life on our terms, that I would’ve wanted to jump into the foxhole with Munny and Combat Beard. The simple thought of doing so provided comfort to me when I was distressed and worried about the state of this country.

That comfort has been lost.

But, I now live with a new comfort knowing that Mr. Munny is now joining the army of our savior, Jesus Christ.

That in itself gives me comfort, and I worry less about my own fate in life, knowing that if I should die tomorrow, William Munny will greet me as a new member and ready to do the will of his holy mission.

God bless to all.
