The Police State’s Reign of Terror Continues … With Help from the Supreme Court

By John W. Whitehead & Nisha Whitehead

All of those freedoms we cherish—the ones enshrined in the Constitution, the ones that affirm our right to free speech and assembly, due process, privacy, bodily integrity, the right to not have police seize our property without a warrant, or search and detain us without probable cause—amount to nothing when the government and its agents are allowed to disregard those prohibitions on government overreach at will.

This is the grim reality of life in the American police state.

In fact, in the face of the government’s ongoing power grabs, our so-called rights have been reduced to mere technicalities, privileges that can be granted and taken away, all with the general blessing of the courts.

This is what one would call a slow death by a thousand cuts, only it’s the Constitution being inexorably bled to death by the very institution (the judicial branch of government) that is supposed to be protecting it (and us) from government abuse.

Court pundits, fixated on a handful of politically charged cases before the U.S. Supreme Court this term dealing with abortion, gun rights and COVID-19 mandates, have failed to recognize that the Supreme Court—and the courts in general—sold us out long ago.

With each passing day, it becomes increasingly clear that Americans can no longer rely on the courts to “take the government off the backs of the people,” in the words of Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas. When presented with an opportunity to loosen the government’s noose that keeps getting cinched tighter and tighter around the necks of the American people, what does our current Supreme Court usually do?

It ducks. Prevaricates. Remains silent. Speaks to the narrowest possible concern.

More often than not, it gives the government and its corporate sponsors the benefit of the doubt, seemingly more concerned with establishing order and protecting government interests than with upholding the rights of the people enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.

Rarely do the concerns of the populace prevail.

Every so often, the justices toss a bone to those who fear they have abdicated their allegiance to the Constitution. Too often, however, the Supreme Court tends to march in lockstep with the police state.

As a result, the police and other government agents have been generally empowered to probe, poke, pinch, taser, search, seize, strip and generally manhandle anyone they see fit in almost any circumstance.

In recent years, for example, the Court has ruled that police officers can use lethal force in car chases without fear of lawsuits; police officers can stop cars based only on “anonymous” tips; Secret Service agents are not accountable for their actions, as long as they’re done in the name of “security”; citizens only have a right to remain silent if they assert it; police have free reign to use drug-sniffing dogs as “search warrants on leashes,” justifying any and all police searches of vehicles stopped on the roadside; police can forcibly take your DNA, whether or not you’ve been convicted of a crime; police can stop, search, question and profile citizens and non-citizens alike; police can subject Americans to virtual strip searches, no matter the “offense”; police can break into homes without a warrant, even if it’s the wrong home; and it’s a crime to not identify yourself when a policeman asks your name.

Moreover, it was a unanimous Supreme Court which determined that police officers may use drug-sniffing dogs to conduct warrantless searches of cars during routine traffic stops. That same Court gave police the green light to taser defenseless motorists, strip search non-violent suspects arrested for minor incidents, and break down people’s front doors without evidence that they have done anything wrong.

The cases the Supreme Court refuses to hear, allowing lower court judgments to stand, are almost as critical as the ones they rule on. Some of these cases have delivered devastating blows to the rights enshrined in the Constitution.

By remaining silent, the Court has affirmed that: legally owning a firearm is enough to justify a no-knock raid by police; the military can arrest and detain American citizens; students can be subjected to random lockdowns and mass searches at school; police officers who don’t know their actions violate the law aren’t guilty of breaking the law; trouble understanding police orders constitutes resistance that justifies the use of excessive force; and the areas immediately adjacent to one’s apartment can be subjected to warrantless police surveillance and arrests.

Make no mistake about it: when such instances of abuse are continually validated by a judicial system that kowtows to every police demand, no matter how unjust, no matter how in opposition to the Constitution, one can only conclude that the system is rigged. MORE.

FBI conducting ‘intersectionality’ training for employees

Via Fox News

The Federal Bureau of Investigation hosted an employee training session focused on the concept of intersectionality, according to new documents.

The documents came to light shortly after it was revealed Attorney General Merrick Garland directed the FBI to investigate “threats of violence” at school board meetings in what critics have described as an effort to crack down on parents who oppose critical race theory in schools.

According to training materials provided to Manhattan Institute senior fellow Christopher Rufo, the FBI training session involved defining intersectionality, reviewing the history of the term, reflecting on staffers’ “identity’ and engaging ‘with our own intersections,” and using intersectionality to increase “inclusion in the workplace.”

The FBI training page defining intersectionality is largely illegible, but the Oxford English Dictionary defines “intersectionality” as “the interconnected nature of social categorizations such as race, class, and gender as they apply to a given individual or group, regarded as creating overlapping and interdependent systems of discrimination or disadvantage.”

The training materials break down an individual’s identity along many different lines, including “Race/Ethnicity,” “Gender,” “Sexual Orientation,” “Ability,” “Religion,” “Age,” “Education,” and “Social Class.” The training materials encourage staff to identify the part of their identities of which they are most and least aware, which part their families emphasized, and the part that “feels the most invisible to my colleagues.”

The training also encourages staff to “recognize and value one another’s unique identities and their intersections.”

While the training materials appear tame compared to the CRT training materials at companies like American Express, the concept of intersectionality connects with critical race theory, which involves deconstructing aspects of society to discover “systemic racism” beneath the surface. CRT encourages claims of discrimination and oppression in America, despite civil rights laws that clearly bar discrimination on the basis of race and other characteristics.

The training materials seem particularly noteworthy in light of criticism of Garland’s latest directive to the FBI. Garland directed the FBI and U.S. attorneys’ offices to meet with law enforcement at all levels to investigate what the DOJ called a “disturbing trend” of “threats of violence” at school board meetings. Is Joe Biden Flying To Wilmington Nearly Every Weekend To Dodge Visitor Logs?

Via The Federalist

It is no secret that President Joe Biden makes frequent trips to his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, but is he doing it to dodge White House visitor logs?

For the umpteenth time since Biden took office, Temporary Flight Restrictions are gracing the area around the president’s beloved city this weekend as he prepares yet another retreat on Air Force One back to his customized home in Wilmington.

Biden is far from being the president that has spent the most time away from the White House, but travel records indicate that he does have an affinity for regularly picking up to leave the Swamp on Fridays. During his first 29 weekends in office, the president was in Wilmington for 14 weekends and Camp David in Maryland for eight weekends.

These trips to Delaware from Washington DC usually begin on Fridays and often extend into Monday mornings and are usually facilitated by “a minimal number of staffers.”

Biden’s travel isn’t necessarily kept a secret, but the reason for his habitual flight up and down part of the East Coast still remains a mystery.

Multiple corporate news outlets have caught onto Biden’s frequent trips but have downplayed the extra travel as a normal release for the elderly president. These media companies, (yes, the same ones that threw fits when Trump would vacation away from the White House), have chalked the weekend trips up to Biden wanting to spend more time with his tight-knit family and away from what he calls the “gilded cage.” They even pointed to his frequent train trips home while he was a senator.

Even when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention claimed that non-essential travel during the COVID-19 pandemic should be limited, the White House justified Biden’s trips home as necessary.

“The President lives in Wilmington; it’s his home. That’s where he’s lived for many, many years,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in March. “As any President of the United States does, he takes a private airplane called Air Force One to travel there. That is, of course, unique from most Americans, but I think most Americans would also see that as a unique circumstance.”
It’s easy to speculate on why Biden is leaving so much. After all, it’s abundantly clear that the president’s health has suffered over the last year. Last November, the then-president-elect slipped and fractured his foot while teasing his dog, Major. Some of Biden’s trips during his first weeks in the White House were to visit his Delaware orthopedist. The president also reportedly justified staying away during the Afghanistan collapse because he wasn’t “sleeping well.”

One prime contender among the theories for why he spends so much time in Delaware is that he wants to avoid White House visitor logs. MORE.

CDC Recommends ‘Virtual Thanksgiving,’ Reverses Course After Backlash, Claims ‘Mishap’

Via The Daily Wire

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) briefly recommended a “virtual” Thanksgiving for the second year in a row, before quickly reversing their guidance and claiming a “mishap.”

A story from Sinclair Broadcasting Group noted, Tuesday, that the CDC has released guidance for the 2021 holiday season, closely following a suggestion from Dr. Anthony Fauci, the White House’s top advisor on COVID-19 matters, that it may be “too soon to tell” whether Americans can expect to celebrate the Christmas holidays together.

The CDC’s guidance, reportedly, said that Americans should plan to have a “virtual” Thanksgiving and avoid attending gatherings, which could increase their risk of contracting the highly transmissible delta variant of COVID-19.

“Despite vaccinations, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention still recommends people celebrate Thanksgiving virtually this year,” SBG reported, originally, in a now-revised story. “Updated guidance states that attending gatherings for events and holidays still increases the risk of getting and spreading COVID-19, especially with the threat of the highly transmissible delta variant.

“‘Safer ways’ to celebrate the holidays, the CDC said, include hosting a video chat party, having an outdoor celebration with everyone six feet apart, waving to neighbors from a safe distance and avoiding contact with others,” the outlet reported Tuesday morning. “If gatherings take place outdoors, masks may not be needed unless the groups are crowded and a high COVID risk is present.” MORE.

Terrorists Released From Guantanamo Bay To Make Room For Parents Who Protested At School Board Meetings

Via The Babylon Bee

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Terrorists are being released from Guantanamo Bay in order to make room for parents protesting their children’s education, sources at the State Department confirmed today. Dangerous terrorists from the Middle East, Europe, and Fresno are being released in droves as their cells are needed for this far greater threat. “See you later, Bob!” said one guard as he sent Bob the Bombin’ Terrorist Guy out of the prison facility on a helicopter. “Good times playing cribbage and all that—I’ll get you next time! Have a good one!” The guard then waited for the next load of detainees to arrive, and took custody of Cindy Alpers from Orange, California. “Right this way, Cindy. You’ll be in a high-security cell. It’s the same one Murderin’ Steve stayed in for a couple of decades. Ah, Murderin’ Steve. I miss that guy.”
