In an innovative move, NBC has found a new way to keep score in baseball. Instead of counting runs, they are counting the number of black players on MLB baseball teams. It turns out in this racially modified scoring system, every team loses because there aren’t many black players in the majors. According to NBC, the final score is: baseball is racist.

NBC talked to a few young black baseball players, including the son of former Braves outfielder Marquis Grissom. What they determined is that baseball is less of sport and more of a hate crime:
As the World Series plays out this weekend between the Atlanta Braves and Houston Astros, the glaring lack of Black players on both teams, and MLB in general, is not lost on Grissom. The Braves and Astros each have one Black player on their World Series roster: Terrance Gore of Atlanta and Michael Brantley of Houston. Most MLB teams had two or fewer Black players, and three had none at the start of the season. About 50 percent of the league, meanwhile, is made up of Latin players.
A study released in August indicated Black players make up less than 8 percent of players in the major leagues, a telling number as baseball celebrated the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Negro Leagues in 2021. In the 1970s, the percentage of Black players was more than double what it is today.
And? What’s the point here?
NBC also talked to a guy named Gerald Early, who is billed as a pop culture expert. According to him,”after the 1970s, interest in baseball in Black communities nose-dived, leading to today’s concerns.”
So black people aren’t interested in baseball and somehow that makes baseball racist? Does that mean country music, ice hockey, and anime cosplay are racist too because black people don’t have much interest in those things either? Probably.
Isn’t it interesting that these liberal media stories only go one way. It’s always: there’s a lack of blacks so therefore this thing is racist.
You never see a story complaining about the lack of white representation in professional basketball. They never write that the hip-hop world is racist because there aren’t enough Asian rappers.
If they want to make the rule that anything is racist if doesn’t have the same amount of black people proportionate to their population, it’s gotta go for all races. I want to see one story that says the prison system is racist against white people because they are underrepresented.
Actually, they do this for gay people. I’m sure the liberal media is cooking up an article about how there aren’t many LGBT bus drivers so therefore public transportation is homophobic.
Since NBC has alerted us to the non-problem of too few blacks in MLB, perhaps they have a solution. Maybe a baseball team can earn one run per black player on their team. A properly-motived GM could get his team 9 runs to start off before the first pitch is thrown. Actually, let’s take this to its obvious woke conclusion: a transgender player is worth 2 runs and if that tranny is a person of color, it’s an automatic grand slam.
