WTF? Congress Approves Another $12 Billion In Assistance To Ukraine

I’m no fan of Russia, but Ukraine can fight their own wars, especially considering how bad the economy is here in America. The Pentagon is telling U.S. members of the military who are struggling because of inflation to apply for food stamps but Congress just approved another $12 billion in aide for Ukraine. Once again, Joe Biden’s “America Last” policy screws over our country and those who sacrifice to protect it.

Here’s some bullshit from The Center Square:

The U.S. army is recommending soldiers apply for SNAP benefits, also known as food stamps, to help cover their rising costs from inflation.

The U.S. Army cites the higher prices on a range of goods because of inflation in its recently released official guidance.

“With inflation affecting everything from gas prices to groceries to rent, some Soldiers and their families are finding it harder to get by on the budgets they’ve set and used before,” the guidance written by Sergeant Major of the Army Michael A. Grinston reads. “Soldiers of all ranks can seek guidance, assistance, and advice through the Army’s Financial Readiness Program.”

Maybe we could afford to pay our soldiers a little extra if Joe Biden and the democrats would stop spending trillions of dollars we don’t have. Also, maybe if they stopped doing shit like this, our fighting men and women wouldn’t have to apply for welfare benefits. Reuters reports:

Negotiators of a stop-gap spending bill in the U.S. Congress have agreed to include nearly $12 billion in new military and economic aid to Ukraine, sources familiar with the talks said on Monday, reflecting continued bipartisan support for the Kyiv government in the wake of Russia’s invasion.

And as the U.S. Department of Defense reports, we’ve already given Ukraine quite a bit of money recently:

Since January 2021, the United States has committed more than $13.5 billion in security assistance to Ukraine.

That was as of August 24, 2022. With the new $12 billion, we will have given Ukraine 25.5 billion in 10 months. And again, the Army is telling soldiers to suck it up and get on food stamps.

I grew up in the 70s and 80’s, the height of the Cold War, and regarded the Soviet Union as the worst enemy that had ever existed. I lived in the Washington D.C. area and remember going to bed worrying that I’d get vaporized by a Russian nuclear strike on our Nation’s Capitol. I bought into Reagan’s “Evil Empire” 100%. I cheered Rambo for killing Russian bastards and got a little missy-eyed when Rocky defeated Ivan Drago.

When the U.S.S.R fell, I still hated Russia. I never believed they suddenly turned good and to this day don’t trust or like those commie assholes.

I would certainly love to see Ukraine kick Russia’s ass but under the same token, if Putin did manage to take the region it wouldn’t change my life. If there was no Ukraine on the map tomorrow, I still have bills to pay and chores to do.

As much as I’d love to see Ukraine win, I’d much rather see our soldiers taken care of instead of having to go on Welfare.
