Don Lemon was easily the dumbest guy on TV and if it wasn’t for the fact that he’s black and gay, he would have been fired long ago. After Lemon finally got the ax on Monday, race hustler extraordinaire, Al Sharpton, is demanding that CNN explain the “racist” reasons why the fired such a “superb journalist.”
In a move that was only a surprise to him, Don Lemon was kicked to the curb after 17 years of idiocy at CNN. Lemon tweeted that CNN was too chickenshit to fire him face-to-face:
“I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network. It is clear that there are some larger issues at play,” wrote Lemon.
But like everything else from Lemon, that was a lie. CNN issued a statement to set the record straight:
“Don Lemon’s statement about this morning’s events is inaccurate. He was offered an opportunity to meet with management but instead released a statement on Twitter,” CNN wrote.
Speaking of statements, Al Sharpton and his National Action Network demanded CNN kiss his black ass:
We are completely stunned at the termination of Don Lemon. Throughout his career, Don has been a superb journalist who was very open to the civil rights community on issues others wouldn’t touch. Don’s voice has been invaluable to the conversation of how we become a more just nation. With the health of our democracy undergoing perhaps its greatest test, we cannot afford to silence his voice. We would like to know what he alludes to when he said there are greater things at play, which is why we urge for a full explanation as to why he was let go in such a fashion.
It doesn’t take a race hustlerologist to figure out that Sharpton is insinuating that CNN fired Lemon because he’s black. In reality, his blackness allowed him to hold on to his job much longer than an equally incompetent white person would have.
Also, superb journalist? That’s the funniest thing Al Sharpton has ever said, and that guy is a walking punch-line.
As it turns out, Lemon’s skin color had nothing to do with his ouster. CNN insiders spilled the beans to The Daily Mail that he was an insufferable woman-hating prick:
Indeed, Lemon’s departure comes just weeks after DailyMail.com reported that female CNN employees were increasingly concerned Lemon had become ‘untouchable’ – and that network bosses were protecting him despite a litany of accusations of cruel misogyny and maltreatment of co-workers going back decades.
‘Without a doubt, a white straight male would have been fired by now,’ one employee said of Lemon, who came out as gay in 2011. ‘He’s a minority in his race and sexuality… Don seems to be in a protected class, and he continues to get away with behavior that others wouldn’t.’
As such, Lemon promptly lost his prime-time hosting gig and was moved instead to join journalists Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins on the newly minted CNN This Morning show.
Negative reports began to emerge almost immediately.
Things got so bad that some women were reportedly refusing to appear on TV alongside him.
See, it wasn’t about race, CNN revoked Lemon’s license to be an asshole.
None of this is going to stop Al Sharpton from playing the race angle, because that’s literally his job. If he’s really concerned about Don Lemon, maybe he would give up his spot on MSNBC for him. We know that won’t happen because Sharpton’s principals won’t allow him to give up a pay day.
