I’m confused. The liberal media keeps telling us that there is a wave of Trump-inspired hate, but the only hate crime stories I ever come across are either complete hoaxes or minorities attacking white Trump-supporters. This one falls into the hoax category. An LGBT student at an Ohio university was busted for sending herself homophobic death threats. Could it be the the liberal media is lying to us? What else are they lying about?
The Post reports:
An LGBTQ Ohio University Student Senate member has received a death threat, and Student Senate leadership believes the threat likely came from another senate member.
Anna Ayers, commissioner of the Senate Appropriations Commission, found two notes in the drawer of her desk in the Student Senate office. On Sept. 27, she found a “hateful, harassing” note referencing her LGBTQ identity and calling her a derogatory term. On Monday, Ayers found another note in her desk that included a threat against her life.
Naturally a death threat against a gay student caused considerable panic:
Student Senate postponed all scheduled events, including a presentation from Athens Mayor Steve Patterson, to discuss the threats at its Wednesday meeting. Student Senate members listened to Ayers speak and discussed experiences of harassment on campus. Dean of Students Jenny Hall-Jones moderated the discussion, and a counselor from Counseling and Psychological Services was present.
At the time Student Senate President Maddie Sloat said the threatening and hateful notes likely came from someone on the student senate. She had no idea how right she was. Check this out:
Anna Ayers, commissioner of the Ohio University Student Senate Appropriations Commission, was arrested by the OU Police Department on Monday and charged with three counts of making false alarms.
Ayers — an OU senior studying journalism, a member of The Post Publishing Board and a previous Post columnist — reported that she received three threatening messages, two in the Student Senate office and one at her residence. An OUPD investigation found that Ayers placed the messages herself prior to reporting them.
What makes this story pretty funny is this stuff from Ayers before she got busted:
Ayers also addressed the writer of the note directly, saying she hoped that person was in the room. She called that person weak, cowardly and worthless.
In reality she called herself weak, cowardly, and worthless, since she’s the person who wrote the notes. At least her hope that the person who wrote the notes was in the room were realized.
“You may find me revolting and worthy of a threat on my life, but in reality, it is your beliefs that are repulsive. You need to get this through your head, you f—ing a–hole: I am proud to be who I am, and nothing you could say or do will ever change that,” said Ayers.
How’s that for self-hate? She not only called herself revolting and worthless but dropped an F-bomb in her own lap. Hey, I’m not going to argue with her self-assessment. She’s the expert.
If convicted, Ayers faces up to 6 months in jail and a $1,000 fine. I’m sure being a member of a protected class, she won’t get anything but a slap on the wrist. Actually, I’m kind of shocked they even arrested her for this. I bet if she would have framed some imaginary Trump-supporters, they would have let this hoax go with no further action.
