Nancy Pelosi Blames Misogyny Just In Case She Isn’t The Next Speaker Of The House

When the democrats took control of the House in the midterm elections the presumption was that Nancy Pelosi would reassume the role of House Speaker, a position she held briefly during Obama’s reign of terror. There are however some rumblings among democrats that Pelosi is an incompetent fool, based on her history of incompetent foolery, and many members want someone else. Just in case Pelosi doesn’t get the Speaker’s gavel back, she has a preemptive excuse that it’s because she’s a woman. She hasn’t even not been voted out yet and she’s already blaming misogyny, which is the most Nancy Pelosi thing to happen all week.

Here’s a hilarious thing from The AP:

Nancy Pelosi said Thursday she has “overwhelming support” from House Democrats to become the next speaker. Asked if sexism might block her second act, she shot back that’s a question for the mostly male lawmakers signing a letter against her.

A group of 17 Democrats led by Rep. Seth Moulton D-Mass., have pledged to vote against Pelosi’s return as the first female speaker of the House. The list includes a dozen incumbents and five newcomers, including two Democrats whose races have not yet been decided. Confirmed by an aide to one of the organizers, the list…includes just three women.

“If in fact there is any misogyny involved in it, it’s their problem, not mine. I intend to win the speakership with Democratic votes,” said Pelosi.

So because a group of mostly men oppose Pelosi, it has to be misogyny? Isn’t that assumption a bit misandrous? See how easy it is to play that bullshit gender identity politics?

Just in case Pelosi’s sexism excuse doesn’t work, she has another ace up her sleeve that happens to be a race card. One of the female signees of the letter is Ohio Rep. Marcia Fudge who, as her last name would indicate, is black. Fudge is considering challenging Pelosi for the the Speaker position.

One letter-signer, Rep. Marcia Fudge of Ohio, has said that other lawmakers are urging her to run. She’s an ally of Ohio Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan, who challenged Pelosi two years ago.

If Fudge were to become the next Speaker of the House, Pelosi could certainly blame it on racism against her leathery white ass. In fact, she may be laying the groundwork for that excuse:

“People don’t even know who I am — an Italian-American grandmother with lots of energy, a mother of five, a grandmother of nine — who is here to do what’s right for our future,” Pelosi said.

Okay, she’s playing up her Italian heritage so she probably has an ethnicity defense ready in case she isn’t elected Speaker. It’s still on par with “it was racism” however.

The democrats have 230 seats in the House and Pelosi needs 218 votes to become the next speaker. Minus the 17 who have publicly opposed her, that leaves her 5 votes shy. That means she will need some Republicans to vote for her and that brings up a whole new problem. On the one hand, Pelosi sucks so the GOP would probably want her running the show and on the other, Pelosi sucks and that makes her hard to vote for.

I’m torn over this as well. Pelosi’s incompetence and insanity guarantees that the House is going to flip back to GOP control in 2020, but she feels so entitled to this position that if she didn’t get it she would be devastated. I certainly want the House back in the capable hands of Republicans, but I’d also like to see the epic Pelosi meltdown of her being rejected.
