Don’t worry people. Thankfully democracy hasn’t been destroyed and no journalists have been killed after an attack on the free press by democratic socialist nitwit Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Apparently democracy only gets destroyed and journalists slaughtered when Donald Trump says “fake news.” Democrats lack the awesome power of death and destruction that the President possesses, which is good thing because they sure do talk a lot of shit about the press.
Politico wrote a piece on Ocasio-Cortez that she didn’t like, so she tweeted out this:
One disappointment about DC is the gossip that masquerades as “reporting.”
This story has:
– Not a SINGLE named or verifiable source
– Only ONE on-the-record comment, which is a denial.My dad had a name for junk articles like this:

Junk articles and birdcage lining? In other words she’s saying it is fake news? Where have I heard that term before?
This cowardly attack on a free press actually gets worse:

Okay, “false information” is synonymous with “fake news.” She’s calling Politico fake news, which if President Trump did it would trigger outage from all corners of the liberal media. For some strange reason none of the clowns at CNN, MSNBC, the NYT, or the WaPo have taken issue with this.
It turns out that Ocasio-Cortez has an explanation why she can call the press fake news and Trump can’t:

I didn’t say it was a good explanation. According to Ocasio-Cortez, when Trump says “fake news” he’s confusing the public by “exploiting” false reporting by the press. When Ocasio-Cortez does it, she’s providing a valuable lesson about journalistic standards.
Obama spent 8 years going after Fox News and Hillary Clinton recently called them “supreme propaganda.” This attack by Ocasio-Cortez marks some new territory for democrats. They’ve alway been free to slam Fox News because it’s a right-leaning news service, but Politico is as lefty as it comes.
The weird thing is, back in October a group of journalists filed a lawsuit against President Trump for calling them fake news.
“President Donald J. Trump’s frequent threats and hostile acts directed toward journalists and the media are not only offensive and unbecoming of a democratic leader; they are also illegal. In the Trump era, nasty rhetoric, insults and even threats of violence have become an occupational hazard for political reporters and commentators,” said Politico’s Suzanne Nossel.
More like douche nozzle. Where is this Politico outrage over Ocasio-Cortez calling them fake news? Why isn’t what Ocasio-Cortez said illegal and hostile?
I know I’m asking a lot of questions, but they are all rhetorical. The reason for the selective outrage is because liberals have a blanket double-standard that excuses all of their hypocrisy. Things are only bad when Republicans do them. Democrats doing the exact same thing or worse is protected from scrutiny by a protective barrier of bullshit. They can lie, cheat, steal, rape, murder, be racist, be sexist, and destroy democracy no problem.
