Remember kids, it’s only racist if a Republican does it. In Virginia, the governor and the attorney general have some serious issues with blackface but because they are both democrats, the controversy has already blown over. Just across the Potomac in Maryland a state delegate dropped an N-bomb and it’s totally cool because she too is a democrat. Democrats can give an insincere apology and all is forgiven, while Republicans are forced to resign, stripped of their livelihoods, and banished to racist island for all of eternity no matter how much they try to atone.
The Washington Post reports that Maryland State delegate Mary Ann Lisanti, a white democrat, was hanging with the boys at an Annapolis cigar bar after hours when she engaged with a white colleague who was campaigning in Prince Georges County. Lisanti told this college that he was knocking on doors in a “n*gger district.”
The the WaPo asked her if she had said this and she was definitely not ashamed.
“I’m sure I have [used it] . . . I’m sure everyone has used it. I’ve used the f-word. I used the Lord’s name in vain,” said Lisanti.
See, it’s okay. Everybody uses the N-word plus it’s no worse than than “f*ck” or “Goddamn.” Can you imagine if a Republican tried to use this as an excuse? For the record, I don’t use the N-word, but then again I’m not a racist-ass democrat.
It becomes even less of a big deal because Lisanti apologized to the state’s legislative black caucus and seeing as how she’s a democrat, they forgave her.
“She apologized several times. She recognizes how she has hurt so many within the caucus, and she hoped to repent from this. She said that she doesn’t remember fully what happened, but she recognizes what happened,” said Del. Darryl Barnes (D-Prince Georges).
Another black delegate, Jay Walker, was present at the cigar bar when Lisanti used the N-word and basically wrote it off as “locker room” talk.
Don’t get me wrong here, it’s not like Lisanti isn’t facing any consequences for this. NBC reports that the Maryland’s House Speaker has removed her from the chair position of a committee and she has volunteered to take sensitivity training. That’ll teach her.
Where is the ability to apologize for anyone on the conservative side of things? When have you ever heard about a conservative accused of racism being allowed to take sensitivity training and keep his or her job? Roseanne was fired from her ABC show with hours of tweeting something much less racist. She wasn’t allowed to say she was sorry, she was simply stripped of her ability to make a living and shunned into oblivion.
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam and attorney general Mark Herring were outed as racists and they haven’t been forced into retirement. Maryland Delegate Mary Ann Lisanti is also very clearly a racist and she’s not going anywhere. This liberal double-standard is getting old. If these three get to keep their jobs, the left can never feign outrage over what they think is racism from Republicans. If it’s okay for democrats to use the N-word and moonwalk in blackface, then it fine for Republicans to use facts about illegal immigration and inner-city crime.
