Absolutely no one other than Bill de Blasio understands why he’s running for president and yet he threw his groundhog skin hat in the 2020 ring last week. Normally a candidate gets a bump when they first enter the race, but the NYC mayor is so disliked the opposite happened. With 0% support, de Blasio is actually the least liked candidate in the crowded democratic field of anonymous weirdos and losers.
Bill de Blasio is a jackass that even the people of NYC hate, but apparently he’s universally unappealing. A new Quinnipiac poll asked likely voters their opinions on the democratic party candidates and let’s just say they weren’t impressed with Hizzoner.
When asked if if people had a favorable opinion of Bill de Blasio, only 8% did while 45% said they had an unfavorable opinion. 48% said they hadn’t heard enough about him to form an opinion, but anyone who gets to know Bill de Blasio inevitably hates him, so there’s no good news here.
With that, de Blasio is the least liked democratic candidate by a lot, but the news gets worse for him. When asked who they would vote for in 2020 0% of likely democratic voters picked him. Actually the poll didn’t put up a zero, they had a dash indicating that there isn’t less than 1% for de Blasio but actually not one single supporter. It’s the same thing as throwing up an N/A for “not applicable.”
Hey, that would be a great campaign slogan for him: De Blasio 2020 – Not Applicable.
Even funnier, according to the poll, respondents were allowed to pick as many candidates as they wanted for this question. They weren’t limited to just choosing their favorite and still not one of them chose Bill de Blasio.
Somehow this disastrous poll managed to kick de Blasio in the groin even further. As stated, not one single democrat would vote for him in 2020, but some of them would vote for Trump. This is no joke but 3% of democrats said they would definitely be voting for Trump and another 2% said they would consider voting for the President.
So the scorecard is: de Blasio 0% and Trump 5% among democratic voters. Ouch.
Another sick burn on de Blasio is that 6% of democrats don’t hate Donald Trump. Considering that Trump is liberal Kryptonite, the fact that his favorability among democrats is close to de Blasio’s speaks volumes about the NYC Mayor’s general awfulness.
Normally potential candidates put out feelers to see if there is any enthusiasm whatsoever, but de Blasio skipped that process. I suspect he has a very high opinion of himself and can’t conceive of the idea that everyone else hates him. He probably won’t even look at this poll and realize he should end his campaign immediately.
Did we need a poll to know that Bill de Blasio sucks? Absolutely not, but it doesn’t make it any less funny that everyone under the sun dislikes this clown. The one bright side to his candidacy will be seeing just how much he will be shunned and ignored before he drops out. I bet he hangs on far beyond the point of embarrassment and it’s gonna be hilarious.
