The liberal media keeps a running total on the supposed lies told by President Trump, which are entirely opinions that they disagree with and not misstatement of fact. During the 8-year liberal media nap known as Obama’s presidency, the former POTUS racked up a ton of lies they chose not to fact-check at all. Now that he’s out of office, he’s still full of shit, telling a crowd in Brazil that Americans can buy machine guns from the Internet with no background check.

“Some of you may be aware our gun laws in the United States don’t make much sense. Anybody can buy any weapon any time, without much if any regulation. They can buy it over the Internet, they can buy machine guns,” said Obama.
There isn’t anything in that statement that is true.
First, our gun laws make perfect sense, at least the big one known as the 2nd Amendment: the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The liberal gun control laws don’t make much sense, but clearly Obama wasn’t talking about that.
He says, “anybody can buy any weapon any time, without much if any regulation” which is completely bullshit. To buy a gun legally, a person must not a criminal or lunatic and pass a background check. People can buy guns illegally while being a scumbag and without “much regulation” but that’s illegal and not reflective of our gun laws, which ban it.
People cannot legally buy a gun over the Internet without meeting the same requirements for buying one in a store. Again, it’s possible to illegally purchase guns over the Internet, but that too is against the law.
Finally, nobody can buy machine guns over the Internet, in a store, or anywhere else without “much regulation.” Fully automatic weapons are highly regulated and completely out of reach for most people.
Maybe Obama figured he was talking in Brazil and nobody in the US would see it so he was free to lie. Then again, the liberal media has let him get away with lying his whole career, so the thought of being truthful never crossed his mind. Why should he worry about it?
The other thing going on here that the liberal media and democrats will ignore is that Obama was on foreign soil and badmouthing America. Last week they all flipped out because Trump was in Japan and said Joe Biden is an idiot. They said it was unAmerican and treasonous. Obama just badmouthed America and lied about our Constitutional rights. Why isn’t that much worse?
If I could buy a machine gun off of the Internet without much hassle, I’d have a room full of them. The one time I wish Obama was actually telling the truth and he lets me down with another steaming pile of bullshit.
The good news is that after leaving office and getting millions of dollars to write a book nobody will read and produce TV shows nobody will watch, Obama hasn’t changed. He hasn’t let those riches go to his head and is still the same America-hating egomaniac race-baiting liar he’s always been.
