Here’s a “Florida Man” story that doesn’t involve gators, meth, or sodomy and yet isn’t any less entertaining. An anti-gun activist walked into a Walmart and demanded to purchase a gun capable of killing 200 people. Hey, at least the Florida Man story has a Walmart, so there’s that. In any case, the gun-hating kook later explained that he was trying to make a political statement by freaking people out that he was going to go on an epic killing spree. I guess this qualifies as performance art in Florida.
Philip Attey describes himself as a “long-time gun violence prevention activist.” Recently he was in a Port St. Lucie, FL Walmart when he saw a man he thought looked like a Nazi purchase a firearm from the chain store.
“I’m in a Walmart just a few days after El Paso and I’m seeing a white nationalist-looking guy purchase a gun and I got mad and I just confronted the sales clerk,” said Attey.
What exactly does a white nationalist look like? White? Possibly American? Attey explained that the guy he saw was, “around 30-years-old, white, male, pleasant-looking guy.” Sounds like a Nazi to me.
Now here’s the exchange he had with the sales clerk as reported by WPTV:
“Can you sell me anything (or a gun) that would kill 200 people?” the man asked.
The clerk replied, “That isn’t funny,” and the man responded, “I know,” and asked again if they could sell him anything that would kill 200 people.
Leftists are such reasonable people, aren’t they?
Eventually the police found this kook and gave him a stern talking-to but didn’t arrest him. Good thing Florida doesn’t have a “red flag” law because this nut is waving one in each arm.
The media also found Attey and he explained he didn’t actually want to kill 200 people, but that he was making a political statement.
“It was to get [Walmart] to wake up about their role in the gun violence toxic climate that we have,” said Attey.
Please watch the video because this guy is terrifying unhinged. In fact, he thinks Walmart has the ability to pass gun control legislation:
“This is an incredible opportunity for Walmart to stand up for all Americans. Create the kind of background checks. Create the gun training, the licensing programs that we need to have in America,” said Attey.
Walmart does perform background checks on all firearms purchases because they have to have an FFL to legally sell them. As for the other stuff, Walmart lacks the legislative authority to pass gun control laws.
The actual funniest thing about this interview is that Attey brags that he was high school student body president and voted “most likely to succeed” right before he admits that he moved back in with his mother while he is “trying to figure what to do with the next stage of my life.
A close second is when a reporter mentioned that Attey’s antics could have been deadly if a police officer had heard him asking to buy a gun to kill 200 people.
“It would be a life worth giving up if I could fix the bigger problem,” Attey said.
Somehow I don’t feel like getting shot to death by a cop in Walmart while threatening to go on a killing spree would fix anything besides taking some useless DNA out of the gene pool.
My prediction is that CNN is going to slobber all over this guy the way they did with fellow anti-gun Florida Man David Hogg. He’ll be on the fake news network more than Creepy Porn Lawyer Michael Avenatti until something dark from his past is uncovered.
He is after all an unemployed lunatic living in his mother’s basement who is suicidal and has mass killing fantasies. Chances are he has some skeletons in his closet. I mean like literal skeletons of people he killed and ate.
