New York and California are insane bookends of an otherwise normal country and hubs of progressive liberal dog crap. Though they share the same ideology, naturally there is some friendly rivalry. This week California Governor Gavin Newsom and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo tried to outdo each other with poor responses to the coronavirus pandemic. Let’s see who won the Battle of the Jackass Governors.
Gov. Newsom put California back on lockdown this week after the previous lockdown failed to stop the coronavirus. It wasn’t enough that he keeps doing something that has been proven ineffective, he was also busted breaking his own rules by attending the type of party that every other Californian is banned from.
It gets more jackassy because Newsom lied that this party he attended was outdoors and complied with all state COVID-19 safety requirements. Oops, someone took pictures:

Newsom managed to dig a further hole when reports of who attended this illegal indoor gathering came out:

These California Medical Association officials are the people who literally crafted Newsom’s coronavirus response including the lockdowns and outlawing Thanksgiving. The concentration of hypocrisy at that illegal indoor dinner party must have been denser than a collapsed star.
Newson is certainly a world class jackass, but does he have enough to take down Ny Gov. Andrew Cuomo?
Last week Cuomo said he would block the coronavirus vaccine from being distributed in New York as long as Donald Trump was President. When President Trump brought this up, Cuomo freaked out and accused him of trying to withhold the vaccine from New Yorkers.
Today, Cuomo outdid himself in the jackass department when he went off on a reporter for asking if the state’s COVID-19 restrictions meant NYC schools would be closing:

After mocking the reporter for being so stupid as to suggest that NYC schools would close because of COIVD-19, it was announced that NYC schools would close because of COVID-19:

Cuomo was informed just minutes after laying into the reporter that the NYC schools would close, but he chose not to issue an apology. That’s how being a jackass works.

Andrew Cuomo ran the worse COVID-19 response in the country, killing tens of thousands in nursing homes, then wrote a book about what an awesome job he did and now he’s blaming the pandemic on people being stupid. What a complete jackass but is it enough?
Gavin Newson has that laid-back California jackass style while Cuomo brings a more in-your-face New York style. I have to give it to Cuomo because he’s more obnoxious and that counts a lot in a jackass fight. Don’t sulk, Cali, you’re still #1 in illegal aliens and gun control.
