Netflix Set To Debut The Obama’s Anti-Trump TV Series Starring A Giant Doofus

Over 2 years ago the Obamas announced they were making an anti-Trump series for Netflix but you know how lazy they are so they’re just now getting around to debuting it. The show is reportedly centered around making fun of the Trump administration, which is already pretty lame and played out, but it will be hosted by giant doofus Adam Conover, making it the “must miss” show of the season.

Deadline reports:

Adam Conover, creator and host of truTV’s Adam Ruins Everything, has teamed with Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions to pull back the curtain on government in a new sketch comedy series for Netflix.

The streamer has ordered The G Word with Adam Conover, which will go inside the machine of government and introduce viewers to the civil servants who make it work. It will ask whether government is a dirty word or a trusted institution.

The comedy series, which will be mixed with documentary elements, will start production in early 2021.

The series is loosely inspired by Michael Lewis’ best-selling book The Fifth Risk, the rights to which the Obamas acquired back in 2018 as one of their first after setting up Higher Ground and their Netflix production deal.

Deadline tries to underplay what this series is actually about as well as the nature of the book it is based on. Here’s Fox News to clue you in on what The Fifth Risk actually is:

Barack and Michelle Obama are using their new roles as movie and TV producers to open up a new front on their arch-nemesis, buying the rights to a best-selling author’s portrayal of the chaotic, early days of the Trump transition and administration.

The journalist’s new book lays bare the apparent chaos and mismanagement at the Departments of Energy, Agriculture and Commerce during the transition from Obama to President Trump’s administration.

The Fifth Risk, a new book released last month, portrays the chaos that erupted after President Trump won the election.

In an interview with NPR last year, the journalist, who interviewed multiple federal workers for the book, said the Obama administration was prepared to ensure a smooth transition between the administrations, but those who came to take the reign of the departments were few in number and often unqualified.

It’s hard to imagine that a show about Trump’s “unqualified” Agriculture Department transition team would be entertaining or even watchable, but Netflix, the Trump Derangement Syndrome of streaming services, paid the Obama’s a shitload of money for this so it’s going to air.

It’s also hard to imagine that this piece of crap could be worse than it sounds, but they did get Adam Conover to host it and his only claim to fame is ruining everything. I’m sure he’ll find a way too make this pile of crap smell even worse.

Thanks to the coronavirus, most entertainment production has been shutdown for most of the year and there’s not a whole lot of new content on TV and in the theaters. The Obama’s anti-Trump Netflix show doesn’t change the fact that there’s nothing worth watching.
