Considering how many times the democrats impeached Donald Trump for dubious reasons, including extortion, it seems like this should be bigger news. Saudi Arabia says that Biden pressured them into delaying an OPEC cut in oil production until after the U.S. midterm elections and threatened them with consequences if they didn’t obey. That sounds a lot more like extortion that asking Ukraine to look into Hunter Biden’s corruption, doesn’t it?
In July, Joe Biden went to Saudi Arabia to beg them to pump more oil because his policies at home had sent the price of gas through the roof. Not only didn’t Saudi Arabia agree to pump more oil, they, along with OPEC, announced they were severely cutting oil production last week.
After this move, The White House accused Saudi Arabia of playing politics and siding with Russia. As it turns out, it was the Biden administration who was playing politics.
Here’s a statement form the Saudi Foreign Ministry explaining their decision to cut oil production was based completely on economic factors:

You don’t have to read the whole thing. The important part is where the Saudi Foreign Ministry says the the “U.S. Administration” “suggested” Saudi Arabia use its influence with OPEC to postpone the cut in oil production for a month.
The skeptics among you may say that Saudi Arabia is misrepresenting things, so here’s NPR to confirm it:
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby, in a sharply worded statement, accused Saudi Arabia of strong-arming other oil producing countries to agree to the major oil cut.
He said the administration had urged Saudi Arabia to delay the decision…
Oops. He said the quiet part out loud.
OPEC announced the cut in early October so delaying that would have put it at early November, which is conveniently after the midterm elections. Compounding matters, Biden warned Saudi Arabia if they cut oil production there would be severe consequences.
By delaying the slash in oil production until after the midterms, that would have helped keep the price of gas rising, which would be beneficial to Joe Biden and the democrats, which makes the request a political favor. By threatening action if the Saudis didn’t heed Biden’s “suggestion” that makes it extortion.
The the first time House democrats impeached President Trump they eventually charged him with the high crime of extortion. This was based on a phone call Trump had with Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelenskyy. During that call, Trump said he wanted assurances that Ukraine would use U.S. military aid wisely before he sent the check. In another part of the call, Trump asked Zelenskyy to look into the corruption surrounding Hunter Biden.
These were two separate things and Trump never said, “Find dirt on the Biden’s or I won’t send you money.”
With Joe Biden however, he told Saudi Arabia to delay announcing a cut in oil production or there will be severe consequences. If the House impeached Trump for extortion, they have to double impeach Biden for extortion because what he did actually qualifies.
