Earlier today, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren released the results of a DNA test she claims proves that she is of Native American ancestry. Upon closer inspection the the test showed that she barely has any Indian blood and actually much less than the average white American. Her story has always been that he mother was a Cherokee Indian and she has used this bogus claim to further her academic career. The Cherokee Nation has chimed in on Warren’s DNA test, and she’s probably not going to like those results as much.
After President Trump had dared Warren to take a DNA test to prove she is what she says she is, she actually took one and released the results as a smug rebuke. Actually, she acted like she was dunking over top of Trump, but the test she took is complete bullshit. It shows that she might be 1/1024th Native American, which would make her .09% Indian, while the average white American has .18% Indian DNA.
Warren is actually whiter than most white people, but there’s more bad news for her DNA test. It didn’t actually test her for American Indian or Cherokee DNA but rather native Colombian, Mexican and Peruvian DNA. She might have some slight Aztec ancestry, but probably not any Cherokee.
And while Warren and the liberal media were cheering the results of this DNA test, the Cherokee Nation had something different to say. Here’s some harsh reality from Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr.:
A DNA test is useless to determine tribal citizenship. Current DNA tests do not even distinguish whether a person’s ancestors were indigenous to North or South America. Sovereign tribal nations set their own legal requirements for citizenship, and while DNA tests can be used to determine lineage, such as paternity to an individual, it is not evidence for tribal affiliation.
Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong. It makes a mockery out of DNA tests and its legitimate uses while also dishonoring legitimate tribal governments and their citizens, whose ancestors are well documented and whose heritage is proven. Senator Warren is undermining tribal interests with her continued claims of tribal heritage.
Ouch. I know Warren was very proud when White House Chief of Staff John Kelly called her an “impolite arrogant woman.” I wonder if she will embrace the Cherokee nation’s assessment of her as ‘inappropriate and wrong.”
Meanwhile, based on her nonexistent Cherokee heritage, she is demanding that President Trump donate a million dollars to charity. Earlier this year, Trump challenged Warren to take a DNA test to prove her claim and said if she turned out to be Native American he’d give a million bucks to the charity of her choice. Trump’s offer was contingent on Warren getting the democratic party nomination for president in 2020, but considering how sad this DNA test was, Trump is under no obligation to pay up.
