A couple of days ago I told you about how the Washington Post tried to make the anti-gun 2020 democrats look pro-gun because they own broken firearms that they’ve never used. Kamala Harris was one of those gun-banning liberals the WaPo attempted to prop up and we’ve now learned a little more about her gun ownership street cred. Apparently she owns a gun for protection, but doesn’t think it’s a great idea if you do the same and supports efforts to disarm the American people. Guns for me and none for thee.
The AP reports:
The senator from California told reporters after a campaign event in Iowa that she is a gun owner. She says, “I own a gun for probably the reason that a lot of people do: for personal safety.”
I’m not sure if The AP was being intentionally funny or if it just ended up that way, but they included this Kamala tweet with the article:
Our children shouldn’t go to school worried they will have to run for their lives from an active shooter.
We need leaders who will stand up to the NRA and fight to keep our kids safe from gun violence.

So she has a gun for personal safety but doesn’t want any good guys in schools with guns insuring the personal safety of children? Why is her life more precious than the lives of little kids? That’s f*cked up. Almost as f*cked up as her accusing the NRA of basically killing school children.
Fact-Check: the NRA supports training and arming teachers to stop crazy people from shooting up schools. Harris and the democrats oppose this with every fiber of their being. You tell me who is putting the lives of children at risk. We need leaders who will stand up to the democrats for creating target-rich environments with “gun-free zones.”
The AP had some more comedy in this article, which was supposed to be a fluffy piece. Pay attention to these two paragraphs which occurred in this order:
The 2020 White House hopeful says that Americans “are being offered a false choice, which suggests you’re either in favor of the Second Amendment or you want to take everyone’s guns away.”
She says she supports “smart gun-safety laws,” such as universal background checks and a ban on assault weapons.
Paragraph #1: It’s false that democrats want to take our guns away.
Paragraph #2: Democrat supports law to take our guns away.
The juxtaposition of that is comedy gold. It’s like a DUI suspect assuring the officer that he would never get behind the wheel and drink right before he cracks open a PBR tallboy and chugs it.
Harris claims that it’s a “false choice” that you either believe in the 2nd Amendment or gun control, which is pure absurdity. If you believe that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, you can’t also believe that right should be infringed. If you want to restrict gun ownership and ban guns, as Harris does, you do not believe in or respect the 2nd Amendment in any way.
Harris of course used to be the Attorney General of California and during her tenure she filed a brief with the federal court asking it to overturn a ruling that would have allowed Californians the right to carry concealed weapons in the state. This AP story doesn’t say whether Harris carries her self-defense gun, but I think that is implied and that makes her an even bigger hypocrite.
